Notification domproc

Notification domproc

Especially for forwarders and bonded warehouse keepers, Port infolink is developing the service Notification domproc (domproc = local export clearance procedure, placement bonded warehouse/import). With this new service, companies can easily notify Customs that goods coming in from overseas are put into storage (bonded warehouse type C, D and E).

Most of the information necessary for a domproc notification (or ‘placement notification’) is already available in the Port Community System through the service
Cargo information. The new service automatically prepares the information (manifest number, B/L number, goods item number). All the forwarder or bonded warehouse keeper needs to do to complete the domproc notification is enter his license number and customs number.

The new Port infolink service Notification domproc prevents overlaps in work on the part of the forwarder/bonded warehouse holder and reduces the chance of errors. Companies can highly efficiently meet their customs requirements.

Market parties & planning
The service Notification domproc targets forwarders and bonded warehouse holders (shippers) with container cargo. Companies that participate must also be connected to the service Cargo information. Notification domproc is being developed in close consultation with a
project group from the business community. The introduction has been planned at the end of 2008.

Business issues
Companies wanting to place cargo that comes ashore in the port under customs control can under certain conditions use a simplified customs procedure for this.

One of the available options is the local clearance procedure. Since the end of 2007, it has been possible for forwarders and bonded warehouse holders to electronically provide Customs with the notifications necessary for this simplified procedure. The Port infolink service in this respect ensures an optimum reuse of information.
