Goal and customer oriented
In each project, the customers play a central role. The aim and added value of and support for an on-line service must be clear from the very start.

In interviews, companies indicated their top priorities or key business issues. Port infolink will use that information as its most important starting point. Each project is characterized by a tight time schedule and a clear, customer-oriented approach.


The Project approach

Intake
A project starts with the definition of the problem and possible solutions. This always takes place in close cooperation with the business community. Port infolink right from the start creates a project team with important representatives from the relevant links in the chain.

Prototype
The project team continuously offers Port infolink input and feedback. This is done through a so-called prototype: a dynamic model with webpages that reflect the content and functions of a new service on a one-to-one basis. It allows companies to see 'what they will get'. Project team participants can use the website of Port infolink to easily access the prototype. In this way, the future service really comes to life. Through the constant input of wishes, comments and suggestions, it keeps on maturing.

Pilot
As soon as the prototype has completely taken shape, Port infolink initiates a pilot together with the business community. This is when parties start with the real time exchange of information. Their experiences may result in further adaptations.

Implementation
Port infolink first implements the developed service among the pilot participants. This is done through the development of interfaces which allow for the direct exchange of data between the in-house systems of the companies and Port infolink. Following the implementation among the pilot participants, the service becomes widely available to the market.

Time path
Regarding internet-based services, Port infolink for each project uses a running time of nine months from beginning to end.The duration of projects requiring connection to in-house systems depends on the time necessary to carry out the required system adjustments at the participating companies.
