Abundance of new services in 2009
A new record: in 2008, the customers of Port infolink exchanged almost 23 million electronic messages. They used 25 different services for this, eight of which were newly introduced in 2008. 2009 holds even more new developments for the port business community. Read the article


Port community systems of Rotterdam and Amsterdam to merge
As of the 1st of July 2009, the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam will merge the individual port community systems of Port infolink and PortNET into one single joint port community system. Through this joint port community system, the new organization will be able to offer customers of the two ports an even wider range of services aimed at the exchange of data between companies and between companies, the port authorities and Customs. For Port infolink customers in Rotterdam, the everyday use of the services will not change. Read more

One tariff for Rotterdam and Amsterdam as of 1st of January
As mentioned earlier, the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam will have one single port community system as of the 1st of July 2009. In anticipation of this, the tariffs for both ports were equalized on the 1st of January 2009. Read the article


Customers offer input about future
Although 2009 has barely started, Port infolink has already started looking to the future. What will the priorities be for 2010 and 2011? How can the Port Community System once again improve operations? To ensure that Port infolink is optimally in touch with what the market wants and needs, we will between now and early April organize eight strategy sessions with customers from the various different target groups. 1st customer in Groningen Seaports
From its location in Eemshaven (province of Groningen), shipping and trade company Marico electronically submitted a cargo declaration to Customs in early December. This first for Groningen Seaports took place through the Port Community System of Rotterdam. Read the article


Multi Modal Mobility Platform
Due to a substantial financial contribution from the ‘actieprogramma Maatschappelijke sectoren & ICT’ (action program Sectors of Society & ICT), Port infolink is able to carry out the project Multi Modal Mobility Platform. Read the article

Development ECS service in full swing
As of the 1st of July 2009, it will be mandatory for the business community to electronically provide Customs with the information necessary for the Export Control System (ECS). In total, this will affect about 4500 companies in both the Netherlands and abroad. For them, Port infolink is developing a practical, port-wide solution which will be supported by an extensive multimedia information campaign. In view of the rapidly approaching EU obligation, it is of the utmost importance that the business community quickly hooks up. Read the article

MRN notification EDI now widely available
Following a successful pilot, the service MRN notification EDI is now available for all forwarders, shipping lines and terminals active in the container segment. Read the article


Pre-notification via Road planning soars at ECT
About 85 percent of the road containers at the sea terminals of ECT are by now already being pre-notified using the Port infolink service Road planning. The last requests for participation in the service are currently being processed. Read the article
